Mooring Financial Corporation seeks a candidate to fill an entry-level staff
accountant position. Mooring Financial Corporation (www.mooringfinancial.com) is a successful and
growing specialized financial services company in Tysons Corner, VA (Washington DC area) which
manages $350 million in assets.
The staff accountant will work directly under the Assistant Controller to prepare
journal entries and account reconciliations for monthly and quarterly closes; perform daily cash
reconciliations for multiple bank accounts; and prepare investor statements, management financial
statements, and audited financial statements. This position is also responsible for analysis of
the company’s borrowing capacity and accounting for inter-company transactions. The staff
accountant will also work closely with the IT department to create various reports for analysis
and tracking of monthly and quarterly closings.
Candidates will ideally have an undergraduate degree in Accounting and experience
working with Excel, Access and Great Plains, as well as one year of work experience or good GPA
if a recent college graduate.
